When you begin your journey on the ReSquad, one of the first tasks you’ll partake in is Tiger Food. Not to worry – we aren’t feeding our new recruits to the local zoo’s tigers; rather, Tiger Food is the Resquared version of what’s known in the SaaS industry as Dog Food.
There is a popular saying that, if your product is solid, then you should be able to eat your own dog food. The term has been propagated in the tech industry to the extent that it is now sometimes referred to as dogfooding. But dogfooding doesn’t sound very attractive, so we like to say ‘we eat our own tiger food’ instead – has a fierce ring to it, doesn’t it?
Central to our ethos is the importance of making sure everyone who works at Resquared takes a walk in our customers’ shoes so that they can gain a deeper understanding of the experiences, challenges, and thought processes that they go through on a daily basis as Leasing Agents and Brokers. And that’s where Tiger Food comes in.
Taking a Walk in our Customer’s Shoes
For new team members, they go through a workflow that is identical to one we would recommend to a first-time user. First step is to imagine you are a leasing agent in say, Orlando, who is looking to fill a space in a center that would be perfect for a coffee shop. How would you tackle trying to fill the space with Resquared? We start with these steps.

By using Resquared at the outset, our team is able to understand not only the product holistically, but the everyday challenges our customers face. On top of that, there is an increase in innovation, bugs can be caught, and new solutions can be devised for the product.
One example of this is a creative solution that our Customer Success Managers have devised from regularly using Resquared. After analyzing data from hundreds of client demos, they were able to make data-driven recommendations for which email subject lines can result in the highest open rates for emails.
Here’s a screenshot of Maureen, one of our Customer Success Manager’s Resquared dashboard from September.
For reference, the industry benchmark is 26%! If you’re interested, you can learn more about how to optimize for email open rates here.
Eating our Tiger Food is awesome and something that not only new employees, but all of our employees are encouraged to continually do as new Resquared features are rolled out.
